Sacred Sound is operated by Rachel McCarthy, a sound healing practitioner based in County Cork, Ireland. This policy explains what little personal data this website (sacredsound.ie) collects and how it’s handled, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. What this website does not do
This site does not use contact forms, cookies for tracking or advertising, analytics tools, or e-commerce/booking systems. No personal data is collected through the site itself beyond what’s described below.
2. Information we collect
a) Server and hosting logs
Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical information when you visit — such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed — for security and site-performance purposes. This is standard server behaviour, not something we actively review or use to identify individuals.
b) Information you send us directly
If you email Rachel (sacredsounds26@gmail.com) or message via Instagram to ask about or book a session, we’ll receive whatever personal information you choose to include (e.g. name, email address, phone number, details about your enquiry). This is used solely to respond to you and arrange sessions, and is not shared with third parties except as needed to provide the service (e.g. Google, which hosts the Gmail account, or Meta, which hosts Instagram).
3. Legal basis for processing
Where we process personal data (e.g. replying to an enquiry), we rely on legitimate interest (responding to enquiries) and, where a booking is made, performance of a contract.
4. Data retention
Email and Instagram correspondence is kept only as long as needed to manage the relevant enquiry or booking, and is deleted periodically thereafter.
5. Third parties
- Email: Enquiries sent to our Gmail address are subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Instagram: Messages sent via Instagram are subject to Meta’s Privacy Policy.
- Hosting: Our website hosting provider may process basic server logs as described above.
We do not sell or share your personal data with any other third parties.
6. Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you, and to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (Ireland’s supervisory authority). To exercise any of these rights, contact sacredsounds26@gmail.com.
7. Children
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
